Travel to DNC in Denver

I rented an AT&T aircard to ensure that I will have continuous Internet access while in Denver.

This way I can be the epitomy of mobile and blog from wherever I am!

I realized that I mentioned that I will be sharing a hotel room in Denver, and that because of the kindness of this young laywer, I have a place to stay.

She was able to find a room with a two double beds at the Econolodge for $212/night! So we will share those costs. I am not sure if the room rate will be raised when the Econolodge learns that there will be two people in the room instead of one. But the reservation says the rate is per room.

Our room is in Denver. On my own I could only find hotels as close as 35 miles away!

I just found out that I have a place in "The Big Tent" and have purchased my ticket:

"The Big Tent" is close to the Pepsi Center (where the convention takes place) and provides a work station, WiFi, food, etc for bloggers coming to the convention.

It's a huge relief to have this space as only State bloggers can be on the Convetion floor all day. I am part of the general blogger pool.

In honor of blogging at the DNC I re-launched my blog with a new look and new website address.

Thanks to the generous donations I've received thus far I was able to purchase my roundtrip plane ticket from Sweden to the United States. Yea!

I still need additional funds to pay for my share of the hotel costs. Lucky for me I was able to find a nice woman with a hotel room who is willing to share it with me. All of the hotels in Denver are sold out!

I am the Chair of the Democrats Abroad Sweden Halland Group and will represent DA Sweden in Denver.

I will try to convince delegates to support important issues for Democrats Abroad in Sweden such as taxes, the environment, and preventing spying on innocent Americans abroad.

Of course I am hoping to interview the Obamas and/or a representative to find out how they view Americans abroad and in Sweden in particular.

My fellow blogger African American Political Pundit just notified me from suburban Washington, DC that I will be a part of his blogging team at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in August.

That's the wonderful news. The bad news is that bloggers have to pay their own way so I am raising funds to get to Denver from Stockholm.
